This page gives you everything you need — which bank to choose, what documents to prepare, and direct links to apply. No cost, no catch.

NRE vs NRO — Which Do You Need?
Documents
Documents You'll Need
The core documents are standardised across banks. Here’s your checklist:
Valid Indian passport
Pages showing name, photograph, date of birth, signature, issue and expiry dates.
Valid visa or residency proof
Work visa, residence permit, employment letter, or equivalent.
Overseas address proof
Utility bill (within 3 months), bank statement, tenancy agreement, or government-issued foreign ID (Emirates ID, NRIC, US state ID, UK residence permit).
PAN card
Required for all NRI accounts. Don't have one? You can apply online through NSDL from anywhere.
Passport-size photographs
Typically 2–4, depending on the bank.
FATCA/CRS self-declaration
Declaring your country of tax residence and tax identification number (SSN, SIN, TFN, UTR, etc.).
Attestation note: If you’re not visiting a bank branch in India, documents typically need attestation by an Indian Embassy/Consulate, a licensed notary public, or an overseas bank official. The requirement varies by bank — reach out to us and we’ll tell you exactly what’s needed for your bank and country combination.
